Charges laid after violent assault at Peace River Correctional Centre

Three men are facing charges after a violent beating at Peace River Correctional Centre. 28 year old inmate Dylan Gogan has been in a medically-induced coma since he was assaulted in the jail on March 11th.

Peace Regional RCMP say there was an altercation between inmates, during which Gogan suffered serious injuries. He was recently transported back to his hometown in Nova Scotia.

33 year old Herbert Charles Wanihadie of Grovedale, 25 year old Dylan Anthony Wyatt Moberley-Horseman of Peace River, and 18 year old Kyle Malcolm Beaver of Edmonton have all been charged with aggravated assault. They remain in custody and will be back in Peace River court from March 26 to 28, 2019.

Gogan was one of two people arrested after a stabbing in Grande Prairie on March 6th. He was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
