Residential street sweeping begins in Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie says they have finished street sweeping work on the main roads.

Crews began working on arterial routes and priority one roads in April. The city says that is about one month later than usual which they blame on the long winter.

Just like residential snow clearing, the city says sweepers will make their way through neighbourhoods the day before garbage day. It takes about one month to complete a neighbourhood.

The city does cover the multi-step process of street cleaning and sweeping on their website.

Residents are asked to keep their vehicles off roadways and to allow crews room to do their work. The city says dust created by crews can limit visibility at times.

Questions can be directed to the city’s Citizen Contact Centre.
