Peace River RCMP seize drugs, one man charged

RCMP in Peace River have laid drug possession charges against a 21 year old man.

Dakota Keewatin was arrested on several outstanding warrants on August 29.

RCMP say he is a known member of the aboriginal street gang known as “Family First” which is known in Alberta for drug trafficking and violence related offences.

Police seized 55 grams of uncut cocaine, which can be worth up to $10,000 in street value.

Keewatin is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He’ll make his first appearance in Peace River court on September 8, 2014.
