The public parking lot for the Emergency Department at the QEII Hospital will be closed for the next month. Crews will be expanding the space to create room for up to four more stalls, as well as resurfacing and other improvements.
The work will start at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 21st. In the meantime, people accessing the Emergency Department can park in the lot directly to the east. Ambulances will still have access to the main entrance of the department, and the public will be able to use it for drop-offs.
The project is expected to take four weeks, weather permitting. Later in the summer, other upgrades to concrete curbs and sidewalks in various hospital parking lots will be done.
