Wembley brings in water restrictions

Wembley residents are being asked to ration their water use. As of Monday, May 14th, level one water restrictions have been put into effect, meaning wasting water is prohibited.

“As summer approaches and temperatures rise, water usage increases dramatically,” the town says in a release. “The Town of Wembley supports and encourages water conservation initiatives and the efficient use of water.”

On a voluntary basis, the town is asking people in odd numbered houses to water on Thursday and Sunday, and those in even numbered houses to stick to Wednesday and Saturday. It can only be done between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Flowerbeds and vegetable gardens can be watered by hand at any time, as long as it’s with a watering can or a hose with a nozzle and a trigger shut off. Water toys can be used for fun as long as children are there at the time.
