The road ban in the County of Grande Prairie has increased. Effective immediately, all gravel roads in the County are at 75 per cent axle around the clock.
A 50 per cent axle weight road ban was first put in place in mid-March, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. That was extended to all hours of the day a month later. Road bans are issued during the spring thaw, when gravel roads are especially vulnerable to damage.
Gravel roads in the City of Grande Prairie have been at 50 per cent axle weight from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily since April 9th.
