County working to keep seniors on the move

Ensuring reliable transportation for those that need it is a priority for County of Grande Prairie council. A number of non-profit groups are getting funding to keep up their work moving seniors and people with disabilities around the region.

More that $125,000 has been spread among 12 organizations who take people to medical appointments, jobs and social outings. County Reeve Leanne Beaupre says they are all doing important work.

“Having transportation services available to residents allows everyone to access services that the area has to offer.”

Family and Community Support Services Seniors and Adult Program Team Lead Coree Ladwig adds they don’t want any county residents to feel limited.
