Grade four in Wembley moving to Helen E. Taylor

Peace Wapiti School Division has decided to move grade four classes to Helen E. Taylor. The choice was made in late April, after a meeting with parents on what should be done with two modular classrooms moving from Harry Balfour.

The first option was to add them to Wembley Elementary Scool and keep the current grade four program there. The other was to add them to Helen E. Taylor, creating one K to 3 school and one grade 4 to 9.

The change will come into effect for the 2018-2019 school year, with construction on a hallway link to connect Helen E. Taylor to the two modulars expected to start around the end of this school year. Wembley Elementary will be left with extra space that could be used for a Junior Kindergarten program.
