Gas leak reported north of Prairie Mall

An area north of the Prairie Mall near Arby’s and Edward’s Factory Outlet has been barricaded off due to a gas leak. Crews from the Grande Prairie Fire Department, ATCO Gas and the city are working to figure out the source of the leak on 121 Avenue. They first responded Sunday night.

In the meantime, businesses in the area and transit routes will be affected. That could be up to the entire day.

Residents are asked to avoid the area. People aren’t able to access 121 Avenue from the 100 Street service road to the Greyhound station.
