Man arrested in Grande Prairie after ramming police vehicle

A 28 year old male is in custody after a police vehicle was rammed while attempting to stop a driver in Mission Heights late yesterday evening.

Around 9 pm police spotted the vehicle driving erratically, and attempted to pull it over.

RCMP also received information that the suspect driver had made threats to shoot a police officer.

The suspect rammed a police vehicle and attempted to assault an officer.

Other members were able to subdue and arrest the suspect.

The suspect was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Two police officers also went to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Smith, AB resident is facing a number of charges.
