19 year old leads police on chase through Peace River

RCMP in Peace River were able to arrest a 19 year old accused of stealing a truck after a chase early Monday morning.

The incident started around 6 a.m. when police tried to pull over a black truck driving the wrong way on 98th Street.

Instead, the driver led police across the bridge, up the west hill, through a field, and then back down the hill.

He was driving very erratically, causing vehicles to have to pull over to avoid being hit.

Three other vehicles and a police car ended up being damaged.

Eventually, the truck was driven into a ditch, and RCMP was able to arrest the male driver without incident.

Freemin Carifelle refused to provide a breath sample, and is facing several charges.
