Downtown biz owners getting prepped for next rehab phase

The City of Grande wants to better communicate with downtown businesses as the next busy construction season approaches. Last year, many owners expressed concerns with the level of impact work had on their businesses.

Phase three of the Downtown Rehabilitation Project is scheduled to run from May until October this year, and will include 100 Avenue from 100 Street to 102 Street. This time around, the city began the tender process earlier than expected so work can start as soon as the weather permits.

An information session will be held for any residents or business owners in the area on a drop-in basis from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on April 24th at the Teresa Sargent Hall. City representatives from engineering, communications as well as design consultants will be on hand.

Wapiti Gravel has been awarded the phase three construction tender for $12 million. ISL Engineering and Land Services will take care of the design of phases three and four.
