Hand Games tournament teaches about First Nations culture

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division says they work to “infuse” First Nations in their school in many ways. Each year elementary and junior high students from all of their school get together for a full day Hand Games tournament.

This is the 12th year that they have held the event. St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie will be hosting the games something Principal Marc Lamoureux is looking forward to.

“We invite our community to watch this traditional First Nations game. This event is a wonderful celebration that gives students the opportunity to learn more about First Nations culture.”

The tournament runs Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s.
