Parking ban lifted, road ban coming

The parking ban on all permanent snow routes in Grande Prairie will be lifted at 5 p.m. Friday afternoon. One has been in place since March 30th, after heavy snowfall in the city, and residents have been thanked for their patience.

A sure sign of spring around the corner, the parking ban is being replaced by a road ban. Gravel roads in the city will be at 50 per cent axle weight from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily starting Monday, April 9th.

“With the arrival of milder daytime temperatures, it is necessary to assign weight restrictions on gravel roads within the city,” Transportation Services Manager Robert Carroll explains.
