UPDATE: As of August 2018, the possession of child pornography charge as well as the making sexually explicit material available to a child charge were withdrawn.
A Grande Prairie man on parole for child luring is facing child pornography charges. RCMP say they got a tip from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre in Ottawa that led them to search a local home and arrest a suspect on April 4th.
It’s alleged the 34 year old was talking to a teenage girl using social media, but police say they don’t have any evidence to suggest any youth from Grande Prairie are victims. However, anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or cybertip.ca
Robert Lloyd Barkhouse has been charged with possession of child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a child. He is on parole for 2014 convictions for luring a child and sexual interference and remains in police custody. A court date is set for April 9th.
