High speed chase leads to 54 month sentence

The man who stole two vehicles and led police on a high speed chase in February has been sentenced to four and a half years in jail.

24 year old Chance Cory Keller got into an altercation with a police officer while he was being arrested in Walmart on February 6th.

A stolen vehicle was found outside the store after it had been pursued by police going faster than 140 km/h through Clairmont.

Earlier, he’d evaded a traffic stop in another vehicle that had also been stolen.

Keller plead guilty to lesser charges, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, robbery, and assaulting a police officer.

He also received a lifetime firearms ban and a two year driving prohibition.
