Parking ban declared, plows heading to residential areas

More than a foot of snow has fallen in Grande Prairie over the past week, prompting the city to declare another parking ban. No vehicles can be parked on permanent snow routes from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays starting Friday.

Snow removal crews will be plowing priority 1 and 2 routes over the Easter long weekend. They’re hoping to clear as much as possible, which is made easier without vehicles on the road.

Enough snow has built up for the city to also start a residential snow removal cycle. That will start Monday, April 2nd in Ivy Lake, Crystal Heights, Summit, Hillside, Mountview, Crystal Landing, VLA and Montrose, the day before their garbage pickup.
