Spring snow impacting roads and bus routes

A total of 12 centimeters of snow fell at the Grande Prairie Airport Monday. A snowfall warning remains in place for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview regions. Areas to the north including Peace River, High Prairie and Manning are also included in the warning.

That snow is creating less than ideal road conditions around the region. 511 Alberta reports highways 40, 43 and 2 are all partly covered with snow and ice.

Those poor road conditions have also led bus cancellations for Peace Wapiti School Division and GP Catholic rural routes. Bezanson, Bonanza, Eaglesham, LaGlace, Ridgevalley, Rycroft, Savanna, Sexsmith, Spirit River, Tee Pee Creek and Woking PWSD routes are cancelled all day due to road conditions. GP Catholic Spirit River and Sexsmith routes are also cancelled.
