UPDATED: Snowfall warning ended for Grande Prairie

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the snowfall warning for Grande Prairie. Areas to the north remain under a warning. Highways around the region and to the north are partially or fully covered with snow according to 511 Alberta

Environment Canada has extended the snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie area. Less than a centimeter of snow fell yesterday according to Environment Canada data.

It picked up through the overnight though as the temperature dropped significantly. Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected. Strong winds with gusts up to 70 km/h could cause some localized blowing snow and drifting snow in exposed areas.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Some Peace Wapiti School Division buses and Grande Prairie Catholic buses were cancelled. A number of schools including all of Grande Prairie Public are off today.
