Construction in Grande Prairie ahead of 2013 pace, behind in value

While the number of new homes being built in Grande Prairie is on a decline, the construction overall is increasing.

Permits were issued for 241 buildings last month, bringing the total so far this year to 885.

That’s a 16 per cent improvement over last year at this point.

Money-wise, we’re still behind last year, but are improving.

The additional $50 million in July 2014 means we’re now sitting at $178 million overall.

That’s about $38 million behind where we were at this time in 2013.
