Crash leads to drug, weapons charges

A Grande Prairie man arrested in a stolen car last month has again found himself in police custody. RCMP say they pulled two sawed off shotguns and a replica handgun from a vehicle involved in a crash Tuesday night, and the accused was the driver.

Officers were called to the two vehicle collision in the area of 99 Street and 108 Avenue around 6:15 p.m. Neither driver was injured, but one of them had outstanding warrants. On top of the guns, police say they also found small amounts of heroin, meth, and fentanyl in his vehicle.

37 year old Andrew James Forseth has been charged with several firearms, traffic, and drug trafficking offences, as well as others for breaching recognizance and a probation order. Forseth was previously arrested on February 12th in a stolen vehicle in College Park. He’s due in court on March 19th for the new charges and March 26th for the others.
