Charges laid after second drug seizure at High Prairie home

High Prairie RCMP say they have seized drugs from a home in High Prairie that was the subject of another bust last year. A two month long investigation led police to the home on March 7th, and a search warrant turned up 100 grams of cocaine and 80 grams of meth.

The drugs were reportedly already packaged for sale, and were found with various prescription pills, cash, and a gun. Marilyn Gwen Hamelin, who also goes by the last name Bigcharles, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking and firearms offences.

RCMP say Hamelin was previously in police custody in November 2017 after 28 grams of meth and 10 grams of cocaine were seized from the same home. She has also been charged for allegedly not following the conditions of her release. Her next court date is set for March 26th.
