City snow removal efforts running 24/7

City snow removal crews will be working 24/7 to get rid of the most recent dump in Grande Prairie. Work started on priority one routes Thursday night, with a focus on plowing, sanding and salting.

Priority two routes will follow, and a two-week rotation on residential clearing will begin Monday, March 5th. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles off the road the day before their garbage pickup day, and that parking bans are still in effect on permanent snow routes.

The winter storm warning for the Grande Prairie region ended around 3:35 p.m. Friday afternoon. Environment Canada is calling for another two to four centimetres in the city overnight, with wind gusting up to 50 kilometres an hour. Another two to four centimetres of snow is in the forecast for Saturday.
