Public getting update on Comp replacement progress

Families and neighbours can get their first look at plans for the Composite High School replacement Monday night. An open house is being held at the Comp with the Grande Prairie Public School District and architects from the Workun Garrick Partnership.

The Alberta government announced the much needed replacement for the high school in March 2017, and a land swap with the City of Grande Prairie needed to give for the piece west of the current building was approved in September. The school is slated to house 1,600 students when it opens in September 2020.

The open house will start at 6:30 p.m. A brief overview of the project will be given, that will include plans for the interior and exterior of the building, as well as where it will be placed on the land. People will also have a chance to talk to school and district administrators.
