JDA Kings face Flyers in first round of playoffs

The County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings’ post-season gets underway Thursday night. The first round of the North West Junior Hockey League playoffs starts with a five game series against the Fairview Flyers.

The JDA Kings finished the season fourth in the league with 44 points and a record of 21-13. The Flyers finished fifth with 35 points and a 17-17 record.

Game one goes at 8:30 p.m. at the Crosslink County Sportsplex. Game two is at home as well, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday night. If a fifth game is needed, it will be back in Clairmont on February 22nd with the puck drop at 8:30 p.m.

Elsewhere in the league, the 2nd place North Peace Navigators will take on the 7th place Beaverlodge Blades, while the 3rd place Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks face the 6th place Sexsmith Vipers. The Fort St. John Huskies placed first in the league and have a bye for the first round of the playoffs.
