Warm weather helps city snow removal

The City of Grande Prairie says it took advantage of Tuesday’s warm weather. It was able to use plow trucks to clear some ice and snow that was previously too hard and compact to remove with anything other than a grader.

However, with cold temperatures expected overnight, the roads will likely be icy again. Drivers are asked to adjust to the conditions.

Residential snow removal crews will be in Avondale, College Park, Swanavon, Highland Park, Smith, Cobblestone and Riverstone Wednesday. All areas are scheduled to be done by Friday, along with all windrows on priority two roads. Crews will start clearing windrows in residential and priority three areas next week.
