Grande Prairie curlers headed to Scotties playoffs

Team Alberta has finished at the top of the pool at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. With a 6-1 record, the Casey Scheidegger rink that features two curlers from Grande Prairie has advanced to this weekend’s playoffs.

Scheidegger secured the top spot in Pool B with a 9-2 win over Quebec’s Emilia Gagne Wednesday. Their only loss in the round-robin came to Newfoundland and Labrador in Draw 7.

This is third Cary-Anne McTaggart’s first Scotties appearance and lead Kristie Moore’s third. Ontario will face Newfoundland and Labrador’s Stacie Curtis in a Pool B tiebreaker Thursday morning.
