Snow clearing heading into residential areas

Snow plows will start to head into residential areas of Grande Prairie Tuesday. Starting at 8 a.m., crews will be in Patterson, Cornerstone, Country Club, Country Club West, Countryside South, Countryside North, Summerside and Signature Falls.

Snow removal happens the day before garbage pickup. Transportation Manager Robert Carroll says there’s been enough snowfall for service to begin, and reminds residents to keep their vehicles off the road.

“Too many parked vehicles slow down progress and create safety issues and residents risk their street being skipped if we cannot safely clear the road.”

The driveway windrow pilot project is still underway, as city council added $350,000 to its snow removal budget late last year. People will green pylons do not need to place them on their driveway.
