UPDATE: Water has been restored to the area but the repair is not yet done. Efforts were hampered by a second water main break along 94 Street.
It’s estimated it will be finished late Wednesday morning, and the open hole is being sealed off to make sure it is safe for traffic overnight. Work should start up again in the morning.
The water will be shut off on Main Street in Peace River again this afternoon. Town crews will be repairing a valve on the water main in front of Town Hall starting at 1:15 p.m.
There was a major water main break near the Shell on Main Street on Friday, January 12, that caused water to be turned off for roughly 24 hours. The town says a valve had frozen and was leaking water onto the street.
Part of Main Street in front of Town Hall has been closed to traffic. It’s estimated the repair will be done by the end of the business day.
