UPDATE: 116 Avenue bypass reopened

UPDATE: RCMP say charges are pending following this morning’s incident. The bypass has been cleaned up and traffic is back to normal.

Delays are expected on the 116 Avenue bypass for the next few hours. Around 8:45 a.m. Saturday morning, a large piece of equipment fell off of a semi at the 100 Street intersection.

116 Avenue is currently blocked to traffic westbound and Grande Prairie RCMP say it will likely be a few hours until the load can be removed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Police add no other vehicles were involved in the incident and no injuries have been reported. The cause is under investigation.
