Driver charged after crash involving tree

A man who reportedly crashed a truck into a tree early New Year’s Day has turned himself in to police. The crash happened in the area of 66 Avenue and 99 Street in Country Club West just before 2 a.m. on January 1st. No one was hurt.

By the time officers arrived, the driver had fled the scene and couldn’t be found. 21 year old Dylan Hudson of Grande Prairie reported the incident at the RCMP detachment the next day.

Hudson has been charged with several offences, including driving carelessly, while unauthorized and uninsured, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision. He’s also facing two counts of failing to comply with conditions and unlawful display of a licence plate.

A court appearance is scheduled for January 17th. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
