New Year’s fireworks display rescheduled

The city is still planning to start the new year off with a bang. Due to the extreme cold warning that was still in place Sunday the city was forced to cancel the fireworks display that was planned for Muskoseepi Park at the First Footing New Year’s Eve. They say the fireworks will now go Monday night at 7:00 p.m. since the extreme cold warning for the area has ended.

The city says they are continuing to watch the wind speeds as the warmer air is expected to bring with it a stronger breeze. They say federal regulations require a wind speed of less the 40 km/h and they will continue to monitor that through out the day. Updates will also be posted to the Muskoseepi Park Facebook page.
