NPHL rules against Dawson Creek Canucks

The NPHL’s Dawson Creek Canucks will have to forfeit four games. It was determined they used too many “import players” in games against Manning, Grimshaw, High Prairie and Grande Prairie. Those teams will now all be credited with wins, but individual player stats will remain the same.

Teams are only allowed six import players on the roster. The Canucks also played seven imports in two other games which they lost, so those standings are unaffected.

Hockey Alberta considers any player playing hockey outside the province to be an import. Though the Canucks are based in BC they are subject to hockey Alberta rules.
