UPDATED: Early morning crash causing delays on HWY 40

UPDATE: Traffic is now limited to alternating single lane. Motorist should continue to expect delays in the area for the next couple hours.

Just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday RCMP were called to a collision along HWY 40 at Canfor road just south of Grande Prairie. The crash involved a semi-truck and a pick-up.

No update was available on the condition of those involved in the crash. STARS responded to the scene along with fire and other emergency services.

The road is closed to traffic and is expected to remain closed for an “undetermined amount of time”. RCMP say they are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
