Local pickleball league looking for a permanent home

One of the fastest growing sports in North America is looking for a permanent home. The Grande Prairie Pickleball Association is looking to turn tennis courts near Dave Barr Arena in to pickleball courts. The city is hosting public consultations Tuesday in the KMSC Law Room at the Coca-Cola Centre to gauge public interest in the project.

The Association’s proposal is to convert the two tennis courts to six Pickleball Courts. This will help them meet the growing demand for drop-in nights and to hosts clinics and tournaments. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and can be played by people of all ages.
