No injuries in explosion east of Clairmont

Firefighters are currently responding to an explosion east of Clairmont. The County of Grande Prairie’s Clairmont and Dunes stations, along with the Sexsmith Fire Department, were called to a building on Highway 43 and Range Road 53 around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The building was cleared, and no injuries have been reported. Deputy Fire Chief for the County Regional Fire Service Bart Johnson adds there’s no risk to public safety.

An investigation into the cause of the explosion is still underway.
