UPDATE: Grande Prairie man sentenced to two years in jail on child porn charge

UPDATE: As of September 12, 2018, nine child pornography charges were withdrawn. On the 10th charge, Lillie was sentenced to two years in jail and two years of probation following the jail sentence for possession of child pornography.

A year long investigation has led to child pornography charges against a Grande Prairie man. Based on information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre, RCMP and ALERT executed a search warrant at a local home on November 24th.

34 year old Ryan Lillie was arrested and is facing 10 charges related to child pornography. He has been released on bail under strict conditions, including no contact with anyone under the age of 16 unless supervised by an appropriate adult, and not working or volunteering anywhere children may be present.

Lillie also must stay more than 75 metres away from a public park, recreation facility, day care centre, or other places where children will be. He can’t use the internet, live in a home that has internet service, or be in a public location where there are devices that can connect to the internet.

RCMP say the matter is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers. Lillie is due back in court on January 3, 2018.
