Sunday transit service expanded

Transit riders in Grande Prairie will have more options for Sunday service after December 3rd. Two hours are being added to the schedule, meaning the last bus will leave from Prairie Mall at 6:05 p.m. Towne Centre Mall’s last bus will be at 6:15 p.m.

Routes 1 to 6 are in service on Sundays and begin running at 9:00 a.m. Assistant Transit Manager Steve Harvard says they heard from riders that more Sunday buses were a priority.

“The Transit Master Plan highlighted the adjustment as a key step in enhancing service and Council recognized its importance when it recently adopted the document.”

Consultants have reportedly reviewed all aspects of the transit system, including routes, stops, service levels and fares. The city says their goal is to make it more efficient, effective and user friendly.
