Freezing rain warning issued for Grande Prairie, Peace River regions

A freezing rain warning has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview and Peace River – Fairview – High Prairie – Manning regions. Environment Canada says an area of freezing rain is expected to cross the B.C. border later this morning.

It’s expected the first area of freezing rain will move east this afternoon, but periodic freezing rain or ice pellets could continue into the evening. Highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots could become icy and slippery, and drivers are asked to adjust to the conditions.
