Everything from power line safety to recognizing agricultural chemicals will be taught to a group of rural children Friday.
As part of Ag for Life’s Safety Day, grades four to six students from LaGlace and Ridgevalley schools will be bused in to the local Safe Communities office to learn everything about farm safety.
Luree Williamson of Ag for Life says they’ll be taken through a number of stations, including one sponsored by Rocky Mountain Equipment.
“And they will be bringing in some large equipment teaching children about the dangers of large equipment, and what they need to be aware of. Â Trans Canada Corporation will be doing underground pipeline infrastructure safety and what the kids need to know about that.”
The hope is that teaching safety to students will inevitably reduce the number of farm-related injuries.
