101 Street downtown to reopen Saturday, 101 Avenue delayed

101st Street downtown is expected to re-open between 100th and 103rd Avenue on Saturday, just slightly behind schedule.

However, 101st Avenue between 100th Street and 102nd Street is further delayed and won’t be open to traffic again until later this month. The City says there has been manufacturing delays with the concrete walls and planter beds.

Once those sections of downtown reopen, the responsibility for clearing sidewalks of snow will fall back on residents and business owners. That will wrap up phases one and two of the Downtown Rehabilitation Project.

Phases three and four will take crews along 100th Avenue between 102nd and 100th Street and then 100th to 98th Street. Preliminary designs have been drawn up, but direction will be left up to the new city council.
