Grande Prairie train derailment cleaned up

Work to clean up after a train derailment in Grande Prairie finished up today.

CN Rail spokesperson Jim Feeny explains the they were moving cars around in the yard at the time Saturday afternoon.

“We had six grain cars derail during routine operations in the yard. Five of them were upright, but one was on its side and some grain spilled out.”

No injuries were sustained and no dangerous goods spilled.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
