City looking for input on Sargent Community Park improvements

Anyone with an interest in using Sargent Community Park in Mission Heights is being asked for their feedback on the future of the space. The City of Grande Prairie is considering making some improvements to the park between St. Kateri Catholic School and Derek Taylor Public School, and wants feedback from those affected.

“We are looking for feedback from anyone that will be utilizing the space so that future development is relevant to user group’s desires,” says Parks Planning Technician Caleb Benson. “We would like input from all park users to take a couple minutes to give us their thoughts on how this park could be improved.”

Right now the park is limited to a sports field for soccer and football and two small baseball fields, but none are used for organized league play. It also has a limited frontage road along the southwest part next to 76th Avenue and 106th Street.

A survey has been posted online that will be open until Friday, December 1st. The parks department will then look at the results and see what’s feasible.
