There are officially three candidates in the race for leadership of the Alberta NDP: David Eggen, Rod Loyola and Rachel Notley.
Notley is the MLA for Edmonton Strathcona, who grew up in Fairview, while Eggen represents Edmonton-Calder.
Rod Loyola is the NDP’s candidate in Edmonton-Ellerslie for the next provincial election, who came in third in the 2012 election.
The Grande Prairie leadership debate is set for August 28th at the museum.

Voting will take place at the party’s leadership convention on October 18th in Edmonton.
