Tidewater Midstream wants to build another gas plant in the Montney region. The 100 million cubic feet per day sour, deep-cut facility is proposed for the Pipestone area near Grande Prairie, along with the necessary pipelines.
Tidewater says it has agreements in place with two anchor tenant customers for 55 per cent of the Pipestone Montney plant’s capacity, and is working on others for what’s remaining. The Calgary-based company is also considering a second phase that would increase capacity to meet interest.
The plant’s construction is still subject to regulatory approval. If given, it’s hoped operations will start up in mid-2019. The first phase is pegged at roughly $210 million.
