Three dead from influenza in Alberta

Early in Alberta’s flu season, three people have died and 90 have been admitted to hospital with influenza.

According to Alberta Health Services, two of the deaths were in the Calgary area and the other in the south zone. Calgary has also seen nearly 60 per cent of all hospitalizations in the province thus far with 59.

In the north zone, there have been 20 lab-confirmed cases of Influenza A, as well as three others where the strain is not yet known. Seven people with the flu have been admitted to hospital.
