County looking for input on plans for area south of Grande Prairie

The county is looking for input on the Wapiti Recreation Area Management Plan. Residents are invited to an open house Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Entrec Centre.

The plan for the 130 hectare site includes a multi-purpose outdoor recreational area with trails and a day-use area. Hunting and motorized activities would not be allowed in the area. The 10 year plan would also help with remediation efforts the land formerly used as gravel pits.

The area is located just south of Grande Prairie, north of the Wapiti River and east of Highway 40.
