Construction on the Bear Creek Outdoor Pool has closed down the tennis and basketball courts in Muskoseepi Park until Friday. The City of Grande Prairie says ATCO Gas is capping connections, and more barricades have been set up around the site.
The pool was originally built in 1962, but was closed in 2013 when a large crack was noticed in the structure. The renovations were approved this spring, and construction is reportedly still on schedule to be done in time for summer 2018.
Included in the $4.5 million project is a triple-loop slide, a tot’s pool, Spanish steps and a lily island.
