A: I believe we are faced with multiple infrastructure problems in the county, probably 2 of the larger and more important ones are our road network and the continuing demand on them due to activity and also weather. Another problem is balancing growth residential and industrial while preserving valuable farm land.

A: There is no doubt that continued strategic investment in road and bridge improvements are crucial to the County but finding funding sources are scarce. The collaborative partnerships to share revenue and expenses to build a world class international Industrial Park in the MD of Greenview will bring increased revenue. Attracting and managing the large resource sector to benefit the Industry , their employees and the municipalities and ultimately the province of Ab.

Barry Yaehne

A: Access to city water at a reasonable price.

DIVISION 4

Maurissa Hietland

A: Implementing acreage subdivisions into neighbourhood associations in a structured manner would provide this demographic a collective and cohesive voice.

Bernie Smashnuk

A: Infrastructure; Intelligent planning of development and our roads.

A: There is no one single project to focus on to improve the County of Grande Prairie. There are many significant projects in the works to improve the quality of life in the county for all residents. However there is one single project that would improve health and wellness in our region. This project benefits every resident in the City and County of Grande Prairie. The project is immediate Completion & Opening of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

How many of us recall the kick off on the project that would “revolutionize the delivery of healthcare in the region” and how many of us drive by the white elephant and shake our heads, asking ourselves what is being done by our municipalities to put pressure on Ministries of Infrastructure and Health to make it happen now, not 5 years from now.

A: The number one complaint I still receive is roads. With the County having 3600 km of road and over 200 bridges and bridge culverts to maintain we need to a sustainable plan to do this. The County has started down this path but much work still needs to be done. We need to take our master transportation plan and figure out how to implement and fund it, then maintain it. With increased traffic counts larger loads and urban pressures this is a big issue that needs to be tackled. Many people that live in the County rely on good roads to get to and from work. Also many people that live in the city and towns work in the County and rely on that road network for there livelihood.
