The scene is set for this year’s edition of Nourish the North. Thursday’s event is billed as “an evening of food, fellowship and philanthropy where community members come together to learn and be inspired.”
This fundraiser for the community foundation has attracted speakers like Naheed Nenshi in the past and will welcome Frank O’Dea this year. The formerly homeless, panhandler went on to become the co-founder of Second Cup and has become known for his inspirational talks as well as his philanthropic efforts.
The event at the Pomeroy Hotel will also feature a seated dinner as well as live and silent auctions. The Community Foundation says community support is crucial for their organization’s survival.
